Albeit a little debilitating, I’ll admit

For you’ve reflected back to me

All my fears, indecisions, lack of belief and worries

Of creating constructs of creative philosophies

To stand in as excuses for a life un-faced

It wasn’t you, I think

But what in you I saw of me!

And I loved you...dearly

No...not loved, clutched with desperation

The image which you presented

Truths within myself

Which I dearly wanted to accept

But refused to recognise as part of me

Yet there is more to me

Than that which you upheld and reflected

I’ve come to know, possibly by fate’s decree

As I’m sure there’s more to you

Than that which I mirrored back

A year back we had celebrated this day...together

Let’s do so again, in this window of words

When I say goodbye I hope you’ll understand

It’s not to you I bid adieu

But to an old reflection of me

I have changed...the reflection didn’t

Time to move on...it’s a New Year

For new resolutions and new beginnings...you see

Goodbye my love...I hope you’ll resolve
