Do Androids dream of...

Do androids dream about Electric sheep and brag about the one that got away? a.k.a. Lessons in Fishing: To catch a fish, give it what it wants, not what you think it wants!

Hi there Avi,
In your image: is the Android giving the fish what the fish wants?
If so - then does that mean that the fish wants "a bolt out of the blue"?
If not - then poor Android; I guess he'll just be as frustrated as we humans are. But - then again - if we always got what we wanted - there would be no challenges in life. And with no challenges in life - there would be no opportunities for natural selection to evolve us into what we are and what we are to become. (If you believe in that sort of thing.) Ergo - frustration serves a very useful purpose. An inherent cause and effect of the learning process.
One logical conclusion from this is that Android himself (or herself) learns. If this be the case (then provided he/she can reproduce) then Android will surely evolve to become more like human. (If you believe that human represents the epitome of natural selection on this Earth.) This is the "power" of frustration.
Of course - all of the above applies to the fish as well. (Didn't someone say that humans evolved from fish?)
Sorry - I got a got a bit carried away with that. We missed you!

One of the annoying things about 20six comments box is that no matter how you "set out" your text in the comments box - it goes and trashes all your carefully considered paragraphs and linebreaks after you hit "submit"!
That's really annoying - we should get the 20six team to add this to their "things to fix" list! :-)
