Marty and the Genie

Bottled up in a lamp, for the first hundred years the genie swore to cover the one who rescued him in gold! The next hundred years he promised to make the person the freed him the Caliph of Baghdad! The next hundred years he promised to make the person the most powerful man in the world! After three hundred years he swore that he would kill the person who would free him!!
And who comes across him, but Marty! Freed, the Genie decides to kill Marty! But how do you kill dead potential?? Unable to fulfill his promise he decides to grant Marty his wish! But Marty has only one wish! To be potential alive!
Now a Genie can cover a man in riches...make him the most powerful man in the world!! But to grant life? That’s beyond the Genie's capability!!
With both their desires unfulfilled what compromise do they arrive upon?
